cold and hot fluid flow mixing

I am searching easy, economical and reliable unit (mixing valve, component) for mixing hot and cold water to a desired temperature and flow. The components should have low price, high flow and temperature precision etc...
One solution is thermostatic valve do you know any alternative?
Do you have some suggestions?
Thanx in advance!

RE: cold and hot fluid flow mixing

I don't know about pricing of devices, but it wouldn't harm having a look (by Googleing) at inline static mixers.

RE: cold and hot fluid flow mixing

a mixer tap, like in the bathroom, perhaps?

RE: cold and hot fluid flow mixing

  • The solution of the static mixer proposed by 25362 is cheap, but a static mixer alone is not enough to control temperature and flow.
  • The mixer tap proposed by europipe is not good also, because the precision in this case depends on the sensibility of the user.
So at the moment your idea is the best.

RE: cold and hot fluid flow mixing

What temperature are your inlet and outlet streams? what is your required outlet flow and your two inlet flows? This problem may be simple and cheap to solve. How much physical space do you have available for piping?

RE: cold and hot fluid flow mixing

Is there a portable shell-and-tube heat exchanger for this purpose? Check out the dealers by doing
a search on ThomasNet.

I wish you well.
