SB 725? Pipe

SB 725? Pipe

SB 725? Pipe

(OP)
I am looking into the use of N04400 pipe for a Sect VIII Div 1 Vessel. My internet searches have turned up references to SB 725 pipe, but this material is not listed in Section II. Have I missed an Interpretation that permits the use of B 725 pipe in Code vessels? Or is it just remotely possible wink that internet references to SB 725 are inaccurate? (My vendor believes B 725 is a suitable substitute for SB 165 on Code vessels.)

Thanks all.

RE: SB 725? Pipe

Why not use SB-165 and avoid the issue?

Regards,

Mike

SB-165 is certainly my preference. But I can only argue my case and let others make the decision. I just want to make sure I haven't overlooked anything. The vendor says 725 is OK, the money people see it's cheaper. It's up to me to present a valid arguement regarding whether 725 can or cannot be used. As far as I'm concerned, UG-4(d) settles it..but I'm always learning.

RE: SB 725? Pipe

AarVee, the world is full of things you can buy. Not all of them are suitable for use in Code pressure vessels.

Regards,

Mike
