Guy Wire Safety Factor of 2.0
Guy Wire Safety Factor of 2.0
(OP)
In guyed tower analysis in accordance with TIA-222-G I see no reference to a safety factor of 2.0 for guyed wires, however, I have read and heard some places where this was common practice (not sure if maybe this was with previous standards). In TNX Tower the stress ratio for guys and wind when TIA 222-G is selected is locked at 1.0 so was just hoping to get a little clarification from the experts.

RE: Guy Wire Safety Factor of 2.0
For previous versions of TIA, I believe the safety factor could vary based on a few different scenarios. That doesn't appear to be the case anymore with the G standard. Hence the reason why you cannot adjust it.
