Tangent Sweep

Tangent Sweep

Tangent Sweep

(OP)
I want to create a surface tangent to radius surface and at a particular angle(45 - 60 Deg) from a plane. Please go through the attached picture to have a clear understanding of what I want to achieve.
Following are the steps which I follow.

1. Create 2D Drawing of the model
2. i) Create a line which is coincident and tangent to arc of surface
ii) Create Ref Horizontal Line
iii) Create Angular driving dimension to define angle (45 - 60 deg)
iv) Measure distance between point1 & point2 as shown in fig.
3. Create an parallel curve at measured distance from lower edge of radius and surface as support.
4. Create Sweep with draft direction option, using parallel curve as guide and axis system Z as direction.

The example shown here is very basic just for demonstration but actually I have to deal with very complex surfaces with variable radius.
SO please suggest any better way to do that.

If not possible somehow then I'll look for the possibility of Automating the process with VBA.

RE: Tangent Sweep

This can be easily done with the Sweep Surface command in the GSD workbench. I think you need the GSD-2 license for the tangent surface option.

The Reflect Curve tool will replace the need to make a drawing, but I don't think you need it unless the part has a much more complex corner radius.

We have HD2 license. I get sweep with tangent surface option but never used it. Can you please explain a little more, with picture if possible.

Thanks, That seems to be useful solution. I'll try it and get back in case of any issues.
