Hello everybody.
I'm trying to simulate a harmonic response on a structure with beam element. I have results for deformations but when I try obtain the equivalent stress (Von Mises) the program give a green check but on "geometry" doesn't show anything (except the structure), in fact program doesn't calculate any stresses. Ansys allows to calculate stresses when I'm using harmonic response?
Another question: Ansys doesn't allows to calculate deformation/stress with periodic solicitions correct?

No. The program is just finding eigenvalues and eigenmodes, there is no displacement or load considered, thus no stress outputs.

If doing a full time integration, you can get displacements and stresses.

Sorry I disagree with you. On harmonic response I can considered forces... I think you are confused with modal and harmonic response....

I want mode shape and natural frequencies of composite cantilever beam by using MATLAB program. The composite beam made up of 3 layers of different material ( Aluminium,rubber and steel) with different Young's modulus and different density. try to reply on hujarepp @gmail.com . please tell me how prepare MATLAB program for such a composite cantilever beam. please do needful help.
