I have some general questions regarding machinary cut sheets provided by manufacturers. They have provided the static load, and what they say is the dynamic load, for the piece of equipment. How do they derive their dynamic loading? The foundation these machines sit on would play a role in what that value actually is correct? There are no natural frequencies or rotational imbalance noted. They do provide motor hp and RPMs.

I just want to have an understanding of what information I need from the manufacturer to get started on foundation design, and was unsure whether the listed dynamic load is sufficient, or if more info is needed. The same goes for equipment supported on elevated platforms made of steel. I would think the supporting structures frequency plays a large role in what dynamic loads are generated.

I know this post is vague, but any insight into what info other than standard cut sheet information people try to obtain for the design of foundations and such would be great.

I would suggest you start by contacting that manufacturer and asking them those questions.

I have seen equipment loads where they stated that a given dynamic load had been increased by a suitable margin so that it could be treated as a static load.

In some cases, the maximum load could be at start-up, and not associated with a particular frequency.

In some cases, the loads may be calculated per some standard or code, and being familiar with that standard may answer the questions.
