Issues adding dimensions to an assembly

Issues adding dimensions to an assembly

Issues adding dimensions to an assembly

(OP)
I have a basic assemble made from about 12 part files. I would like to dimension it to show it off as a prototype, but I am not sure how since my extension lines take on some odd angles. Can someone clarify this process?

Thanks.

RE: Issues adding dimensions to an assembly

So are you looking to dimension it in a 3D view ?
What version of NX are you running ?

RE: Issues adding dimensions to an assembly

It's been awhile since that thread referenced by jerry (that was in response to someone using NX 6.0) was written, but the recommended workflow is still to use PMI for something like this. And along those lines, we've made, and continue to make, significant investments in PMI as more and more people are looking to moving away from fully dimensioned, multi-view drawings, to where they're documenting the model itself. For more information on both what Siemens PLM offers in this are as well as a general discussion of the benefits of PMI, check-out the documents that I've attached to this post.

RE: Issues adding dimensions to an assembly

You still need to define at least the orientation of the plane that you would like the dimensions to be measured relative to and how they're oriented.
