neutral insulation, medium voltage
neutral insulation, medium voltage
(OP)
I hear that the NEC allows 600V insulated neutral conductors on solidly grounded systems 1Kv and above.
anyone know where I can fine a reference to this in the canadian electrical code? spent a couple hours digging for this but couldn't find it.
I have a 3ph,4w 4.16Kv solidly grounded generator feeding switchgear (yes, there is phase to neutral loads off switchgear) currently there is four 5Kv insulated single conductor cables from generator to switchgear ( three phase conductors + neutral) there is also an EGC ran from gen to switchgear. Is there really any need to run a 5Kv insulated neutral? seems a bit much to me.

RE: neutral insulation, medium voltage
sounds like you already have an insulated neutral conductor? I must be reading it wrong.
