Components Blanking Upon Insertion

Components Blanking Upon Insertion

Components Blanking Upon Insertion

(OP)
NX6.0.5.3

Sometimes when adding components to an assy, they come in blanked, but usually not. Is there a setting that controls this?

TIA!

RE: Components Blanking Upon Insertion

The first thing that I would check is whether they are actually being 'Hidden' or whether they are simply being placed on an 'invisible' Layer. If this proves to be the case, then perhaps when you're adding Components to your Assembly, that you first go to the 'Settings' section of 'Add Component' dialog and set the 'Layer Option' to 'Work'.

Nope. I have had it set to add them on the work layer.

OK, try this. After placing one of these 'self-blanking' Components, go to...

View -> Camera -> Edit...

...and in the 'Clipping' section of the dialog, press the 'Fit Planes to Extents' button and then hit OK to leave the dialog.

No, these components still appear to come in blanked. There are many of them (fittings) and doing as you suggested re-oriented the view (component still blanked), and it is more time consuming to get back to the orientation I had than to simply unblanking them and move on.
