HELLO, WE HAVE A GE STEAM SEAL REGULATOR FROM 60'S. THE STEAM SEAL REGULATOR HAS A DASH POT ON IT. THE MANUAL SAY'S TO FILL IT WITH OIL BUT WE ARE NOT SURE HOW MUCH TO PUT IN IT. DOES ANYONE KNOW? ALSO SHOULD THERE BE OIL ON THE TOP SIDE OF THE PISTON THAT ACTUATES IN THE DASHPOT?

In any dashpot the piston should always be fully submerged in oil. There are probably rare exceptions.

i appreciate it so you should be able to look down into the chamber that the piston rides in and it should have oil on top?
