Creating Datum Planes

Creating Datum Planes

Creating Datum Planes

(OP)
I am a member of a group that is modifying the geometric structure of a 3D-printed bone, whose model has been imported to Creo Parametric (originally a CT scan series, converted into an stl file, currently a prt file). The datum planes, however, are missing on the model. How can I input datum planes?
Thank you!

RE: Creating Datum Planes

Assuming you have no planar surfaces in this model for a datum plane to reference, I think your only option is to create a default coordinate system and use it to create datum planes.

Note that you can either create a new part from your part template (which will have all your default datums, parameters, named views, etc.) prior to importing geometry or you can set a config option that will automatically use a template when importing geometry to avoid this situation.
