when i review Mill cert Flux of SAW process. Para Classification of mill cert statement: "AWS 5.17: F7A6-EM12K, AWS 5.17: F7A8-EH12K, AWS 5.23:F8A4-EA2-A2, AWS 5.23 F9P4-EF3-F3"
It mean that: This flux above can be used for Filler: F7A6-EM12K, F7A8-EH12K, F9P4-EF3-F3. Correct or not, Manny thanks if you can show evidence in code.

The properties of the weld deposit are dependent on the flux used and the electrode used. Three different fluxes and three different electrodes can provide 9 different combinations, each of which can result in different properties.
The flux-electrode designation is simply telling what the mechanical properties can be expected with a certain combination.
In the first case you listed, i.e., F7A6-EM12K simply tells the reader that the properties of the weld will be 70 ksi UTS in the as welded condition with Charpy impact properties of 20 ft-lbf when tested at -60 degrees F.
The same flux will produce different properties if the electrode is changed to EH12K. The increase in manganese results in the mechanical properties changing slightly. The tensile strength is still 70 ksi in the as welded condition, but the notch toughness is 20 ft-lbf at -80 degrees F.
In short, the flux can be used with several different electrodes, but there will be changes in the mechanical properties.

I know that one mill cert define only one classification. why this mill cert define manny classification. This is mill cert wrong?
