Masonry Software?

Masonry Software?

Masonry Software?

(OP)
Hi,

Our office just landed a project for a 13-story load-bearing masonry wall building. My boss told me to find a good software program to use for masonry analysis/design. We'll probably use the software for gravity and lateral loading. Can anyone recommend a good software program?

Thanks!

RE: Masonry Software?

I don't think there's a lot out there, but check out the NCMA program... it's decent.

RE: Masonry Software?

RAM Elements had a module for multistory masonry walls - handles gravity, lateral, out of plane loads, openings, etc. It's reasonably good.

For something less advanced (and also less expensive), ENERCALC comes with several several masonry design calculations built it.

RE: Masonry Software?

I thought that Enercalc had some limited masonry provisions but it's been a while since I've had access to it so I might be mistaken.

RE: Masonry Software?

You may want to look into TEDDs. Among other things it does some masonry calcs too.

RE: Masonry Software?

QuickMasonry from IES (www.iesweb.com) is very transparent in reporting and very easy to learn in my opinion.
