Can't extrude or cut

Can't extrude or cut

Can't extrude or cut

(OP)
I would very much appreciate it if anyone can help with the following problem.
I converted a ProE iges model to an Acis solid and imported it into desktop 6, I then combined it with a desktop part. Now I find that when I try to cut or extrude a slot through the part I get the following error message;
"can't complete parametric boolean, face not owned by owner".
The Acis solid is in the form of a shelled out injection moulding.

Regards,

Anthony

RE: Can't extrude or cut

Did you try inserting the IGES model directly in? MDT6 can do that.

Dear Fred,

I did try inserting the iges first but however I adjusted the options I couldn't get a complete model, I just got missing faces. I have never had much success when importing iges solid models into MDT6.
I think the only way around this is to obtain dims for the original model and re-create it in MDT6, it's quite a complex moulding but I can't see any other way.

Many thanks for trying to help,

Anthony

RE: Can't extrude or cut

That's odd. I have usually had really good success with importing IGES models.

Sorry I couldn't help. Good luck.
