Missing Solid Silhouette Curve

Missing Solid Silhouette Curve

(OP)
Nx 7.5

I have a missing solid silhouette curve in a drawing view created from exploded model view. Although it doesn't appear in the view, I can right click in the area where the curve should be and it will select it.

Any ideas?....Thanks

RE: Missing Solid Silhouette Curve

Try changing your display tolerance for your Drawing view. Also make sure that the part with the missing profile is not interfering with some other Component/Body in the model.

"display tolerance for your Drawing view"....under the General Tab in the View Style window I've tried changing the tolerance up and down with know luck. I assume that's the same thing.

RE: Missing Solid Silhouette Curve

Zoom in on the view on the drawing such that the view covers the graphics area. Then Edit - Style - on the view and set the tolerance to 0. ( zero)
Then OK.
NX will consider 0 a unreasonable value and find a more suitable tolerance. In most cases this value is good for the view, if the tolerance is the case.
You will get different tolerance values depending on the zoom factor . (!) The more zoom the finer the tolerance.

Does the missing silhouette appear in other views ? I.e is it a specific face that doesn't generate the silhouette ?
Check the model Examine Geometry - run all tests on this specific face. Also run Information - Object and select the face.
in the listing window, ( I assume that the face is a B- Surface) check if the face has very many patches in u and v and also what continuity between the patches. ( C0 seams ?)

Tomas
