ASTM A234, ASTM A182 and MTR

ASTM A234, ASTM A182 and MTR

(OP)
I have a couple of questions on MTRs.
On ASTM A234, does it require Hardness Testing to be noted on MTR?
On MTRs I see that ASTM A182 and ASME A182 is noted.
My question is why A182 is noted as ASME Specification.

RE: ASTM A234, ASTM A182 and MTR

Typographical error? International manufacturer? Counterfeit material?

RE: ASTM A234, ASTM A182 and MTR

Your supplier is dual certifying to both specifications. ASTM A182 is recognized by ASME as ASME SA182, generally the specifications are identical. ASME sometimes deletes materials from their version of the spec. There is a typo present since the ASME grade should read sa182. I don't have A234 in front of me, but if hardness is listed in the mechanical properties it should be included in the CMTR, unless otherwise noted.

On the MTR it has a hardness reading, but I don't see nothing about hardness on ASTM A234 for grade WPB.

MTR's may list more information that what is required by the ASTM or ASME material specification. For Grade WPB, hardness is not required.
