Laser welding drawings callout

Laser welding drawings callout

Laser welding drawings callout

(OP)
I am looking for a reference that I can use to callout a laserweld on a drawing. In the past I have used an arrow followed by LBW and numbered note that specifies depth and class of welds. The welding houses I work with hate this because of how they have to verify depth. However, when I ask how they would prefer the callout they never offer an alternative and say that the note on depth is "fine." So how do you callout laser welds on drawings?

RE: Laser welding drawings callout

I have not used laser welding for several years, but I used to only callout the type of laser and depth. The laser operators only care about this.

It's been 5yrs for me, but when I needed to call it out, I did as you did kkeen. I never had an issue with it.
