Type B Air Meter Clamps

Type B Air Meter Clamps

(OP)
What can be the cause for over-center type of clamps that are used to latch the lid on Type B Air Meters failing to stay latched? I have 2 clamps on different that will latch, but pop up after a couple of seconds. I can't send those meters out to the field until I have confidence that the problem is solved.

These are the brass toggle clamps, not the SS steel ones.

RE: Type B Air Meter Clamps

With the brass being so soft, the pivot holes wear quite easily, and have worn to the point that they no longer hold. They will need to be replaced, or if you are set up for brazing, you can repair them.
