Gents, and Ladies,

I am looking to have a concrete answer as to the pump that was selected for the glycol heat recovery system in my building.
I have 2 AHU's that have 9 circuit setters each on them. ( 3 banks of 3),
each coil has a 9.7' drop at the 88.9 gpm.
There are also 2 heat recovery coils which have 6 circuit setters each on them. (2 banks of 3)
a 5.7' drop across them at 133.33 gpm.

if i have a 10" main which breaks off into an 8" sub main, which feeds 9 coil banks from one AHU in parallel, and goes back into an 8" submain to a 10" main.

would i be using the total of 9.7'x 9 for the pump head to be overcome?

or would it just be 1600 gpm at 10'

not sure how to size this.

I understand there is also effective pipe length involved, and I know how to incorporate that, My real question is do i need each individual coil loss added in.

Please draw or sketch your system, but i think you only need look at one ahu loss if they are all in parallel. How you get even flow however.... Provide as many details as you can for diameter, lengths etc

What are you trying to size exactly ? The pump or the pipes?
