Driving dimension depending on reference dimension.

Driving dimension depending on reference dimension.

Driving dimension depending on reference dimension.

(OP)
Hello all,

I'm using NX8.0 and i want to create a driving dimension that is for example half the size of a reference dimension. Problem is that I dont know the name of the reference dimension, so i cannot do it with a formula.
Also when i create a new driving dimension, you always get a dropdown menu with following choices: measure, formula, function or reference.
If I choose here the option reference than i can select another dimension but than NX doesn't take any reference dimension.
Can somebody help?

Thx

RE: Driving dimension depending on reference dimension.

First question ) Try to create a ligne between the 2 points of your reference dimension then you can measure it and add the result in a formula

2nd Question) Select a feature when the dropdown menu appear

I hope this help

RE: Driving dimension depending on reference dimension.

So-called 'Reference Dimsnions' are NOT accessible in terms of their being reused by an expression/driving dimension. They are just that, for 'Reference' ONLY, not unlike a dimension placed on a Drawing. Granted, they update if the model changes, but they are not tied to an expression value.
