AutoPIPE Question

AutoPIPE Question

AutoPIPE Question

(OP)
Question for the AutoPIPE gurus...if you have a header with multiple branches that eventually tie together with a tee, how do you physically connect the branch sections in AutoPIPE. Even if the measurements are exact, the segments do not join and they don't seem to want to join via the join command. Please enlighten me.

RE: AutoPIPE Question

Rename the end point. So if one branch is pipe A, and you want to join into pipe B, specifically at point B09, insert a run along pipe A and change the end point to be B09 rather than A25 or whatever it happens to be. Hope I have explained that clearly enough.

RE: AutoPIPE Question

I prefer to start at the branch. Convert the point to a tee. Route from there.

To tie two independent lines together, don't make the coordinates overlap. Use a node from run A on run B, as Hurricanes said above.

RE: AutoPIPE Question

(OP)
What I'm trying to do is connect (2) branch lines together after they come off a header. Here is what the configuration looks like, the point that I'm trying to tie together is labeled "X":

How do you join these two segments?

RE: AutoPIPE Question

Same holds true. If you want to tie two pieces together, reuse a node number.

To tie B02 to C02, you need to insert a new run from B02 to C02 or vice versa.

RE: AutoPIPE Question

ConstantEffort has put it much better than I did. All you need to do is rename the points and AutoPipe will do the rest for you.
