Drawing becomes Corrupt?

Drawing becomes Corrupt?

Drawing becomes Corrupt?

(OP)
Hello all,

The error first occurred when I was editing the drawing file.
An error about that particular file’s auto-recovery file was showing up every time I tried to save or tried to edit the properties of an object.
Along with the auto-recovery file error, Another error followed it stating: "An unknown error occurred while accessing [File Path].SLDDRW."

I closed the file and tried to reopen it and every time I tried to re-open it, it would give me the same errors. I tried opening the actual model of the assembly and the model opened up just fine.

Due to this problem and my inability to save or re-open the drawing file, I started over from scratch (this way I can be sure that the problem does not arise from something that already existed in the drawing file).
After getting through most of the design for the drawing file, I ran into this issue again and again.
It works fine for a while when I create a new file and start building up the drawing file. Then, at some point near the end, it starts getting these errors.
The errors I am getting now are mostly just the "An unknown error occurred while accessing [File Path].SLDDRW" error alone, and the auto-recovery error does not show up as often (only after certain actions).
I could not pinpoint a cause to this problem as of yet.

So far, I created the same file from scratch 3 times over, and ran into the problem every time.

At this point in time, I am suspecting some error in the assembly that may be trickling down into the drawing file after I mess with some of the features within the drawing file. But things were fine in SW2012, why am I having this issue with SW2013?

I need help in diagnosing this issue please, as I do not want to keep having to throw out my work.

RE: Drawing becomes Corrupt?

You will probably need to involve your VAR. They will be able to dig deeper into the problem files.

Meantime create a new drawing template (or use a different one) and try again.

I have already done that.
Looking for additional help. Usually I can solve most issues on my own before VAR is able to get SW involved and ready to delve into the problem.

Do you think the template may have something to do with it? (I do use a custom drawing template, but its not WILDLY customized).

RE: Drawing becomes Corrupt?

It's possible to be the drawing template. Does a similar error occur with other assys?

Does the error always list the same part shown in your posted image?

If you delete or suppress that part, do you still get the error?

Also,
This is an issue that doesn't seem to easily show what the cause is, and from my experiences with VAR support, many cases like these usually end up not getting solved... (at least for me). Not trying to put any VAR down, but I am quite capable with the computer and if I can't understand what the issue is after all the different tests and diagnosing, they would be hard pressed to find the cause when they aren't physically here and don't take into account the full background of previous tasks and errors. Only real way they could help is by looking at the code in the files themselves to check for anomalies, but I have created these files over and over from scratch and I feel like the files themselves would not show anything in particular.
I guess we will see.

No other errors occur with any other assy

I change the file name of them and create new ones. These files all show the same error.

What do you mean by this one exactly?
I am in a drawing file for an assembly that contains ~6 parts and no other assemblies.
