Prima platino trim off query.

(OP)
Hi all,
I'm 2 days into a new job running a prima platino 2.5kw laser with sicam 14.1 software. My problem is that i've run ferranti and trumpf lasers which had the ability to trim off the sheet once the parts had been cut. However this is not being done on site, and problems with material handling and storage of part cut sheets are evident.
I've contacted prima's UK department who were helpful but would not furnish me with an answer without an onsite visit. Previous attempts to achieve cut off have resulted in the head tripping out 10-20mm from the sheet edge which is unacceptable. Surely The means to lock the head in the z axis, and tell the machine to traverse in a required direction up to; and beyond the sheet edge with shutter open must exist?. Can anyone help me resolve this issue?.. Thank you in advance.

RE: Prima platino trim off query.

How does the machine know it is 10-20 mm from the sheet edge? And can you temporarily disable that feature?
B.E.
