Exporting a Parts table into an Excel file

Exporting a Parts table into an Excel file

Exporting a Parts table into an Excel file

(OP)
Previously we used Excel to input data into our parts table. Once finsihed we then exported the data via the excel plugin to our datateam which uploaded it to our data-management-system.
Now we use the auto-parts-table feature, the only export function I can find is to export a .txt file which we are unabel to use without writing more scripts.

Does anyone know if it there is a way to export the contents of a table, that has been filled in using the auto parts list feature?

cheers

Adam

RE: Exporting a Parts table into an Excel file

Hi Adam,
There is a workaround available for this.
When you export the part list using EXPORT ...in the FORMAT use TABS BETWEEN COLUMNS (by default i think it is spaces between columns) .This way you will get a txt file that can be easily opened up in Excel as per your requirements.Save the file once you open the txt file in the excel.
Hope this is what you are looking for.
Regards
Kapil

Hi Kapil,

Thanks for the reply

We did find this option but wondered if there was a simpler way of exporting a csv etc stragiht from NX/TC.
If not, then this will be fine.
