Swept Solid Vector Origins

Swept Solid Vector Origins

Swept Solid Vector Origins

(OP)
I'm trying to create a "lofted" solid by sweeping a circular cross section into a square cross section. When I select my two sections, it auto-places the alignment vector origins seen in the first attachment. I want the vector origins to be directly over each other, but I can't figure out how to change their placement. When I complete the sweep as-is, I end up with what is seen in the second attachment, which is the lofted solid, slightly twisted. I figured out how to correct the problem after the solid is created with the Alignment >> By points method, but is there a way to just simply fix where the vector begins before creating the solid? Thanks in advance for your help.

RE: Swept Solid Vector Origins

Before "align by points" came along, there were 2 tricks used to help in situations like this.
  1. Rotate the circle so the start point aligns with the square start point (do your sweep again and rotate your circle by 45° to straighten out the solid). The start point for a full circle is at the intersection with the +X axis of the WCS at the time of the circle creation. You can also find the start point by using Information -> Object and choosing the circle.
  2. Break the circle into multiple segments (4 in your case) that align with the other shape. The starting alignment point will be the closest end point on the arc you select.
