Honeycomb Modeling in ANSYS Workbench 14

Honeycomb Modeling in ANSYS Workbench 14

(OP)
I'm trying to model a piece of honeycomb in ANSYS Workbench 14. The goal is to get stresses in the face sheets and to simulate the stiffness of the honeycomb material. I'm modeling the honeycomb face sheets as surface bodies and the core as a solid body. I've been told that this method of modeling honeycomb has been shown to give good results (if this is incorrect and you have a better way to model it, please let me know). Ideally I'd like to get a conformal mesh between the surface bodies and the solid bodies, but I can't seem to bring in a multibody part into Mechanical from DesignModeler if it contains a combination of solid and surface bodies. If anyone has any ideas that could help me, I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks,
Steve
