Correct Toolpath - But Reversed Axis Causes Out Of Stroke Condition

Correct Toolpath - But Reversed Axis Causes Out Of Stroke Condition

(OP)
Good Afternoon All,

I have an issue when posting my program.

The tool path is correct, but is posted 180 degrees out.
This is technically correct but puts the machine in an out of stroke condition

This is on a 5 axis machine so there is more than 1 possibility, how do I select a different orientation?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Alan

Short term solution, you could use the ROTATE ude to rotate the axis to the proper angle at the start of the path. If have done this when I want to force the post to go the direction I want output. Long term would be to set the travel limits in the post for the rotary axis.

We have limited the rotating moves in the postprocessor, but the machine had Table-table type kinematic.
The tilting table real limits were -110°..+110°, but we limit it to -110°..0°. There is no need any user interaction, so there is no errors..

Thanks both for your quick responses,

Unfortunately I don’t have access to adjust the post; this was supplied by a 3rd party.
How do I use the ROTATE ude command?

Thanks again
Alan

From the machine control area of the dialog select Start of Path Events, click the Edit button to display the
User Defined Events dialog
From the Events Available list select Rotate
Click Add new event to display the Rotate dialog
Set the Rotation Axis to the desired axis A, B, C
Set the Type to Angle
Enter the Angle

Clicl OK to add the Rotate to the Events Used list.

Are the postprocessor files *.tcl, and *.def? They are simple text files, easily editable.
