Sulphide Reduction Bacteria (SRB) dangerous concentration
Sulphide Reduction Bacteria (SRB) dangerous concentration
(OP)
Does someone know wich is the dangerous concentration for the SRB bacteria in the water?
I have water with concentration of 10^3-10^6 bact/ml. Is that concentration dangerous? Do I need a specific Biocide injection to be safe? Which kind of product is advisable for a inhibition program?
Thanks for the collaboration.

RE: Sulphide Reduction Bacteria (SRB) dangerous concentration
"The simple presence of bacteria in a system does not necessarily indicate that they are causing a problem.............Therefore, 'action' concentrations for bacterial contamination cannot be given."
Further assessment of your system is required to reach the conclusion that chemical treatment is necessary. There are some coarse guides to corrosion risk in
NACE Corrosion 2002, Paper 02235
NACE Corrosion 2006, Paper 06662
NACE Corrosion 2008, Paper 08503
and the operating and inspection experience of your system will also play a part.
