Temperature Classifications

Temperature Classifications

Temperature Classifications

(OP)
Hi,

I know about the temperature classifications for equipment, with regards to ATEX. i.e.:

Temperature Classification, Maximum Surface Temperature °C, Ignition Temperature of gas or vapour °C
T1, 450, >450
T2, 300, >300
T3, 200, >200
T4, 135, >135
T5, 100, >100
T6, 85, >85

[European - UK]

I can find these classifications on many websites. However, I need a reference for this information, and I can't find it. Is it in the Atex regulations or DSEAR? I can't find them there.

Please can anyone point me in direction of a directive, regulation, standard which has these defined?

Thanks.

RE: Temperature Classifications

I think that's in EN 60079-0 (Explosive atmospheres - Part 0: Equipment - General requirements).
