i have a one-storey showroom building in australia approximately 6m height to be designed, the tilt up panel has thickness of 150mm and to be built on top of strip footing. i was just wondering what should be the approximate dimensions for my strip footing. i need this for my prreliminary design, please help anyone

RE: Strip footing size JUst rough estimtion

The supplier of the tilt ups should have that info

Depends on a lot of things here like the load coming to the panel from any roof and/floor loads, and the allowable soil bearing. Just the wall alone is about 2000#/ft without any openings. Need that info to give an estimate of the width and thickness.

Ask your structural engineer.

RE: Strip footing size JUst rough estimtion

If you are not capable of making a preliminary estimate of the footing size why would you think you are capable of doing the final design?

RE: Strip footing size JUst rough estimtion

I agree with Ron. You should consider asking a geotechnical/structural engineer. Estimating a preliminary footing size is not a difficult task but you do need some information, and more importantly you need to know what you are doing.
