CYS - Setup and control

CYS - Setup and control

CYS - Setup and control

(OP)
Hello folks,

I was wondering if anyone has a way of creating Co-ordinate Systems using a spreadsheet type function to either populate the expression table or create the CYS.
So a spreadsheet with a name then an x,y,z column, something like:

CYSAA, X=1, Y=2, Z=3, Rotation 0.
CYSAB, X=3, Y=2, Z=1, Rotation 0.

At the moment I create them using the expression table then create each CYS using the expressions.
So:
CYSAAX=1
CYSAAY=2
CYSAAZ=3
CYSABX=3
CYSABY=2
CYSABZ=1

But for 30 or so CYS it is a little long winded and the odd error has crept in.
Thanks
Mac

RE: CYS - Setup and control

Hi Mac,
Assuming you are using NX8/8.5 you can use Use Spreadsheet option in PATTERN FEATURE for this (select the CSYS you desire to pattern and please note that you need to select at least one point or csys in the from and to in order to get the USE SPREADSHEET function highlighted) .Please see if this gives you what you desire.If this is not what you look for then try using KF/NXOPEN.
Best Regards
Kapil
