Celdex Pre-Cast Slabs

Celdex Pre-Cast Slabs

Celdex Pre-Cast Slabs

(OP)
Does anyone have any technical information regarding Celdex slabs. These are a pre-cast concrete product that were manufactured in the 1960's and 1970's in small blocks (approx. 24"x16") and stung together with pre-tensioned cables to form a slab. They were reinforced with rebar and grouted together.

We are completing a balcony replacement project that has Celdex slabs for all interior floor slabs and the cantilevered balcony slabs. We are unsure if the pre-tensioned cables have any value anymore or if they were just part of the forming process. We need to hold the tension and anchor them where they will be cut when we demolish the existing Celdex balconies if they have structural value.

I haven't been able to find any literature online and don't know enough about this product. I would appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Pete
