Renting or Leasing SolidWorks?

Renting or Leasing SolidWorks?

Renting or Leasing SolidWorks?

(OP)
It has been a number of years since this topic was discussed, so I thought it would be worth a new posting.

If a company only needs a seat of SolidWorks for a short-term project, what are their options?

I just checked with a local dealer, and while Dassault systems did offer some short-term license options years ago, they no longer do this. I wonder if there are any other legal options.

One thing I recall from many years ago, is a company that would rent out computers that had various software programs installed. This is probably the best solution for both of the companies for whom I am doing this research. They would both need SW and a computer to run it. Is this sort of service currently available anywhere?

RE: Renting or Leasing SolidWorks?

Simplest option might be to sub-contract to a fluent SW user or design house.
If someone has to learn the software, the effective cost could be appreciably more.

RE: Renting or Leasing SolidWorks?

I have seat that I am not using. Used it as a contractor. Could update and reactivate for less than buying new.

I've considered loading onto a laptop and leasing the laptop. I wonder how that would pan out as a business.
