Switch off tolerance values from dimensions by default

Switch off tolerance values from dimensions by default

Switch off tolerance values from dimensions by default

(OP)
I have always switch on tolerances on dimensions both in sketch environment and in drafting, so every time I put a dimension it appears with tolerance. I want to have by default dimensions without tolerances. Anybody knows how I can switch it off by default, so I do not need to make manually every time I insert a new dimension in a skertch or drawing? I am not able to find any customer default to manage this.

Thanks in advance

RE: Switch off tolerance values from dimensions by default

Actually there is a place in Customer Defaults where you can set the default tolerances. Go to...

Customer Defaults -> Drafting -> General -> Standards

...and you will see where you can choose your 'standard' and then select...

Customize Standard -> Annotation -> Dimensions

...and at about 40% down the scrolled window there will be an item named 'Tolerance Type'.

Now this will not necessarily control directly whether you're getting a default tolerance set or not since this will only effect NEW part files created from scratch. If you're using a predefined template file that is what's really controlling this issue. In that case you will need to open the master template and go into...

Preferences -> Annotation -> Dimensions

...and change it there and resave the template file(s).

Thank you John. At least I am able to change the configuration in the actiove document and I do not need to change every dimension.

Thanks again!
