Any ideas for creating a "MEDIAL AXIS" for a 2d or 3d part in Nx ..?

Not OOTB, but I suppose one could write a simple NX Open program to do something like that.

Wonderful improvisation of the Extrude/draft command. This would work OOTB on profiles with straight edges. But for curved edges it would fail. Yeah you can draft it again and again, but that isn't automatable..

Also this would yield a "STRAIGHT SKELETON" and not the "MEDIAL AXIS" of a profile. Please excuse me if I am throwing up jargons..

This I need as a part of automating the design of Extrusion dies for aluminium.
