Convert simple holes into threaded holes

Convert simple holes into threaded holes

Convert simple holes into threaded holes

(OP)
Hi,

double-clicking on a (simple) hole feature does not allow me to redefine the hole as a threaded hole on NX 7.5. Now since there are a few holes in my models that now need threads, what is the fastest way to convert?

RE: Convert simple holes into threaded holes

You have three choices:

1) Upgrade to at least NX 8.0 and then edit your 'General Holes' converting them to 'Threaded Holes'.

2) Delete the holes and start over.

3) Go to...

Insert -> Design Feature -> Thread...

...and add separate 'Thread' features to your existing 'General Holes'.

RE: Convert simple holes into threaded holes

To compliment Johns proposal #2, deleting the holes isn't as bad as is sounds,
If you before deleting RMB the holes in the partnavigator and "Make Sketch external", then recreating the new holes is a matter of seconds since you have all the points left.

Tomas

. . . and then make the sketch internal after the new holes are added
