File Load Time From TCUA to NX8.0
File Load Time From TCUA to NX8.0
(OP)
Hi Everyone!
I am hoping to get some help on the topic of load times. We recently have gone to TCUA and are also running NX8. The user community is saying that the time to load a part is TOO LONG! I have loaded an assembly with over 60 parts and it took about a minute and a half. Is there an industry standard on load times or does this load time see slow compared to what you ahve experenced with a similar set up? Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thank You!

RE: File Load Time From TCUA to NX8.0
So roughly 1.5 seconds per part?
A lot depends on the complexity of the parts you are loading, and how much of that data you are loading. Are you using partial loading or lightweight representations for the assembly? Both of those options should help cut down the amount of time it takes to load.
Have all of your parts been refiled in NX8? If not, every time you open a part last saved in an older version, NX will do a conversion to bring the part up to NX8. If you don't save the file it will go through that process every time you open it. NX ships with a "refile part" utility to help with a batch upgrade.

We have discussed using partial loading and lightweight representitives which is probably our next step.
