Wind Class 4 - Which code is this?
Wind Class 4 - Which code is this?
(OP)
We have a client importing some roof/patio type structures from Italy. They specify they are compliant with a wind Class 4.
Which code is this from?
I need to try equate it back to an Australian equivalent. Our winds are expressed in "m/s" are a peak 3 second gust speed.
Any help appreciated.

RE: Wind Class 4 - Which code is this?
wind class 4 would be 'storm winds' to 16.7m/s, but this depends on the width/height of your structure.
In wind calculations, the only 'class 4' I can think of is the terrain class, 4 being urban (1 being coastal) but I don't see how you can comply with that.
(note: I am not a professional, I just did a bachelor in structural engineering but doing sth completely different)

pretty small things, say 3mx6m, probably 3m off the ground.
16.7 m/s isn't much at all. Light breeze here.

will have a look at that document. I doubt they would withstand much by the looks.
