Excluding Elements To Fringe Model?

Excluding Elements To Fringe Model?

Excluding Elements To Fringe Model?

(OP)
Hey guys,

First-time poster, but let's just get to the meat of it.
Right now I'm working with a model in Creo Simulate and I have excluded a bunch of elements to get rid of a singularity in my analysis. Now the study status will show a new maximum stress, however when I go to 'review the results of the design study' and make a fringe plot, the model max is still inside the excluded elements area. Does anyone know a way to force the fringe plot to show the new model max, the one outside the excluded elements?

RE: Excluding Elements To Fringe Model?

When you view the analysis report summary file the max stress measure should be what you want (or whatever measure you are trying to capture). In the results window you can create an annotation of the measure using info>measures then select the measure you want and create the annotation. We use volume regions to exclude elements around the constraints (where we get the singularities) and can exclude volumes from the result definition. That can look goofy for reports though as large chunks of the model are gone from view. I feel it is easier to explain the singularities and how they do not apply rather than try to force them out of the result definition. The key is understanding and ensuring confidence in the solution accuracy and in the convergence. If you know your singularities are not affecting the solution then you can argue away the singularities and use queries to develop your state of stress.

Hope that helps and good luck,
