Seismic Survey Reference Material -- Geophone placement

We are looking for a reference book or tutorial that talks about placement of geophone in terms of designing an array for a survey.

I am looking for something we can reference when making design decisions rather than simply using the "we have always done it this way or that" defense.

Any of you out there have a favorite reference book that covers this topic or know of a tutorial on a website???

Larry Mackey

I would suggest 'Seismic Refraction Exploration for Engineering Site Investigations" by Bruce B. Redpath.
