(OP)
DOES ANYONE HAVE A COPY OF CSA STANDARD A283, QUALIFICATION CODE FOR CONCRETE TESTING LABORATORIES? I KNOW THERE IS SUCH A THING AS CATEGORY 1 CERTIFICATION. IS THERE SUCH A THING AS CATEGORY 0 CERTIFICATION? IF SO, HOW DOES IT DIFFER FROM CATEGROY 1 CERTIFICATION?

RE: CSA Standard A283

I doubt it is allowed to post copy-written material on these forums, but I am looking at a pdf of it.

Category 0: basic certification, strength tests

sampling aggregates for use in concrete, sampling plastic concrete, making and curing compression and flexural test specimens, air content, slump, compressive strength

Category 1: intermediate certification, mix design tests
all of the above plus a bunch of aggregate tests, concrete mixing in the lab, air content by volumetric method, obtaining and drilling cores for compressive strength test

Category 2: Advanced certification, advanced tests
all of the above plus a few more aggregate tests, water absorbtion of concrete, making curing and testing compression test specimens of no-slump concrete.
