Creating a new 2D drawing.

When puting a thickness dimension on a section in a view the resulting dimension text is on an angle.

Is it possible to change it so the text will always be horizontal.

when using more sophisticated CAD programs the default positioning is always horizontal so the text is easy to read, not so with with NX.

This is version 7.5 if it matters.

RE: Possible to have text parallel to grid in 2D view

rmc on the dimension -> style -> dimension tab -> just below the very top left of the menu click on the pull down and horizontal is the first choice

RE: Possible to have text parallel to grid in 2D view

Right click on your dimension and choose Style; on the Dimensions tab there is an option (dropdown box in the upper left hand corner) for text orientation.

To make this the default for future drawings, you will have to change your template files and/or customer defaults.
