Interpart copy analogy in siemens NX7.5

Interpart copy analogy in siemens NX7.5

Interpart copy analogy in siemens NX7.5

(OP)
Hi,

I wondered if it is also possible in Siemens NX 7.5 to do interpart copies between parts of an assembly (like in solid edge), the boolean way. For example, two parts need to fit with a tooth-slot combination. I have a part with the tooth, is it possible to copy this feature into the other part on assembly level? (parametric/linked)

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Brecht Vermeulen

RE: Interpart copy analogy in siemens NX7.5

hi brecht,
no problem - but even more than one approach,
1. the base long old way
a)on assembly level activate the part where you want to do the boolean operation
b)insert -> assiative copie-> ave linker / type body select the reference body from the other part.
c) ( isolate the rest of the assembly - hide all) do the boolean operation -> control your actions in the partnavi
2. the shorter way starting with nx6
a ) like above
b ) start the boolean operation select the target on tool active the entire assembly and allow interpartcopy in
the selection tool bar - > select the target from assembly -> control your actions in the partnavi
3. the coolest way since nx7.5 for subtract
from the reuse toolbar select the pocket.
a ) select the target body switch in the dialog listing deselect the parts not to bool...
( edit those pocket operations from the pocket function)
4. When you can switch to the wave mode in ant you can copy bodies direct from one part to the other

Thank you unwam2ie, this was exactly what i was looking for. Even in multiple methods!

I just found also a other method (to complete this post):

a)insert>combine>assembly cut..
b)select target and tool

but i guess your methods are more general to use.

RE: Interpart copy analogy in siemens NX7.5

beware of assembly cut
it is only a feature on assembly level in the display part nothing changes.
assembly cut is more a display option on assembly level

RE: Interpart copy analogy in siemens NX7.5

'Assembly Cut' is much MORE than a simple "display option" but rather is used to model a very common manufacturing workflow, that is where things like holes are drilled at Assembly and therefore ONLY shows-up in the Assembly and NOT in the unassemblied detail part files.
