Hello Everyone,

We do acoustic insulation for storm water and down pipes(plastic pipes arnging 40mm-200mm dia) in commercial buildings. We use mass loaded vinyl insulation at the moment. I was wondering if anyone has an experience of using hollow (double wall) pipes that is capable of achieving >28 dba between 20-20,000 KHz (audible range) frequesncy. (material flowing through the pipe is mainly water and waste).
Regards
Kal

RE: Down pipe noise suppression.Hollow double wall plastic pipe

28 dBA reduction seems unlikely, but perhaps you mean 28 dBA SPL at 1m. I don't have the faintest idea whether that is possible, but the equations are in the textbooks.

Cheers
