Change drafting format with patterns
Change drafting format with patterns
(OP)
Hi,
we use patterns into drawing template, called into the pax file. So for new drawing template all work well. The problem born if the user decid to switch from a format to another, for example from E to B.
The problem can be resolved using the ugs_sheet pax file or I need to use the command present in the pattern menu ?
Another question, to better know NX, under the ugii template folder there is the ugs_drawing pax file and the ugs_sheet pax file. Which is the difference ?

RE: Change drafting format with patterns
File -> New -> Drawing
...and are creating a new Drawing file.
However, the 'ugs_sheet.pax' file controls the templates that you see when you've already created a new Drawing and you're now using the...
Insert -> Sheet...
...to add additional sheets to this Drawing. It actually only comes into play when you've selected the 'Use Template' option in the 'Sheet' dialog.

RE: Change drafting format with patterns
this is more clear.
Another question, we are using patterns into template.
In the NX installation the ugs_drawing_templates.pax point to for example at Drawing_A0-Size-template.prt, while ugs_sheet_templates.pax point to for example at Drawing_A0-Size2D-template.prt.
In our installation the ugs_sheet_templates.pax point to the same template, so when I add a new sheet, the new sheet doesen't have pattern.
I make something wrong.
In what are different Drawing_A0-Size-template.prt respect to Drawing_A0-Size2D-template.prt ?
Can I use our patterns to create new sheet via ugs_sheet_templates.pax or what I need to do to work as standard Siemens intallation ?
Thank you...
