Rupture pins for pulp stock

Rupture pins for pulp stock

Has anyone had any success with rupture pins on pulp stock pressure vessels? We've blown a few rupture discs, which shut down the process until they're replaced, and are looking for an alternative. So far the rupture pin valves I've located look like they'd plug solid after the first event, even with flush and drain valves in place. Setpoint for rupture would be 150 psig, vessel relief is 12". RPT makes a slurry valve, but they are small and the first setpoint is 500 psig.

Thanks for any feedback.

You might get a better response if you change to the Pulp and Paper forum.

It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts. (Sherlock Holmes - A Scandal in Bohemia.)

Thanks, I'll try that.
