Hi,

I've finalized couple of aluminum extrusion profiles but I still need to produce 2D-drawings of the tool profiles. What is the quickest way to use the 3D-models profile in a drawing..? There are a few profiles and some of them have pretty intricate detail, so drawing them from scratch in the drafting module would take considerably more time.

RE: 2D profile drawing of aluminum extrusion

Just create a Cross Section feature, place the curves on their own layer, then add a view to the Drawing normal to the plane of the section and using 'Visible in View', set the view to show only that particular layer.

Hi,

'Cross Section' feature worked perfectly, thanks! Also I used reference sets instead of layers and works just as desired. Additionally, this will show only the curves in TC, which is exactly the behavior wanted.
