DATUM PLANE BY A FEW POINTS ( MORE THAN THREE).

DATUM PLANE BY A FEW POINTS ( MORE THAN THREE).

(OP)
Hello Everyone.

I have question about datum plane by a few points in NX.
I work in Catia V5R19 and NX8.
Our measurement laboratory gave me measurements points from surfaces scan.
Measurement machine create average plane by these points.

I need create datum planes by more than three points, for example 20 points. This plane is avverage by these 20 points. (For example Gausian Distribution)
In Catia I always use Plane Definition -->Plane Type-->Mean Through Points.

I can't find similar function in NX.

I have used NX since 2 months.

Thank you for help.

RE: DATUM PLANE BY A FEW POINTS ( MORE THAN THREE).

Hi
To fit a group of points to a plane,
1) Put the points into a group
2) insert -> Surface -> Fit surface ... and choose Fit plane. Then choose the group of points as input.

I am on NX 8.5 but I think the same functionality is available in nx 8.
