Varying the dimensions of a part in ABAQUS without changing the rest of the model

Varying the dimensions of a part in ABAQUS without changing the rest of the model

(OP)
Hi everyone

I was wondering if there is an easy way to vary the dimensions of a part in ABAQUS while keeping the rest of the model unchanged. I want to analyze a robotic leg at 10 different lengths. However, there are like 30 different regions in which different time-varying loads are applied. Clearly creating 10 different models for the same part with different lengths would take a very long time (defining the load regions each time, importing the data, creating the mesh, etc).

Therefore, I was wondering if I could create just 1 model and vary the leg lengths of that single model, thus keeping the loads and boundary conditions defined for all 10 models. Basically, I do not want to define the load regions, boundary conditions, etc for 10 different models since I think that is unreasonable and a waste of time.

If its any help, I am using ABAQUS 6.9.

Thanks!
