Motion Simulations NX 7.5

Motion Simulations NX 7.5

Motion Simulations NX 7.5

(OP)
Ok so I have uploaded two images. the first is my Assembly file in the motion simulation before i start a new Solution.
The Second image is after the new solution is created. Can anyone tell me what has happend to my model and why it hasn't kept its original shape once the new solution is created? You will notice that the modle has seemed to fall to the "Ground" but it appears that it followed no rhyme or reason.

If you would like i can upload the Assembly itself, but that might not work so well considering it has more than a few components.

thanks in advanced for your help.

RE: Motion Simulations NX 7.5

Can you please say a few words about what happened ( What did you do ?) between stage 1 and stage 2?
Did you convert assembly constraints to motion objects ?
Has the motion solver been executed ?
What version are you running ?

If you like to upload the assembly, put everything in a zipfile and upload. It should work ok.

Regards,
Tomas

RE: Motion Simulations NX 7.5

I played around a little with your model.
The same happens to me when i open in 754. The parts move into new positions.
I then looked at the constraints in the original assembly and noted that there were a few "which i would have done differently" smile
I deleted a few constraints ( there were 4 fix, i deleted 3) reversed one which was conflicting. Then again created the "motion and this time it stayed in the original positions.
I have no clue on why this happens. If you find it a big issue you can send it to GTAC.

Btw, nice animation!

Tomas

opps, I forgot that I added those Fixed constraints. I was hoping that by doing that the assembly wouldn't move once i started the New Simulation but it still did the same for me. I think it might have had something to do with the fact that that was a save as of a different assembly and when i did the save as i think it might have come over with some motion information. but all is good now. took a day, but now i have a working motion simulation.

Thanks for your comments and your help.
